That's great news Gemma. As a people we need to be more assertive in general, like you are. Spring and, dare I say, hope is in the air. Have a great Easter Sunday.
How heartening to see so many people at a dawn mass this morning in a cold and wintry graveyard in Galway. From the embers comes renewal. A very happy Easter to you.
Great news indeed, Gemma, but in further heartwarming matters it seems the revival you mention is - at least here in France - not confined to the young and younger, and herewith a documented account:
I hope you can clarify developments that have been causing some bafflement - ergo the recent banning or blocking of one or more contributors hereabouts. Can you tell us - you who can seldom be accused of mincing words - can you let us know - who it is has been banned and why, since I don’t recall any scandalous or heretical comments on the Comments page.
For what it’s worth, speculation is rife here in France that a certain Mary Wrenne is the one on the naughty step, but I note too that the friend who signs herself Real Irishwoman also seems to have had comments culled - and yet my sparkling reply to one of those comments is still to be seen.
All in all the plot deepens, and so in the interests of free speech…
For all your healthy aversion to TV, dear Gemma, I daresay you would have beamed with Easter joy to see the Easter Vigil beamed here in France from the lovely Catedrale Santa Maria Assunta in Ajaccio Corsica - the church, as it happens, where Napoleon himself was baptised.
A whole crowd of catechumens - fifty-five, I think there were, most of them young adults in the full flush of Easter joy - walking up with their sponsors to be baptised by the bishop. It was wonderful to behold - and part of what I mentioned yesterday, a widespread flocking to the Church in France.
I echo your sentiments and observations regarding the Traditional Latin Mass, Gemma. I attend a TLM in York most Sundays and occasionally the FSSP in Warrington and young people and families dominate the ever increasing congregation. It is really heartening to see. As a annual participant on the Chartres pilgrimage, that alone is witness to the huge surge in the traditional movement where last year, entries met record levels and they had to be closed for the first time ever! Deo gratias!
NWO, pretend (anti) Catholic, Biden's, nonsensical and satanic link of 'transgender visability' with Easter Sunday, has been utterly counter-productive, and simply shown him up for what he is. But possibly his handlers are so cock-sure of triumph they no longer care?
I second your respectful demurral, Actual Irishwoman...
I was - and some would say still am - an actual child of the much maligned 1940s and 1950s and was not only a saintly altarboy and choirboy but also went through the alleged meat grinder of schooling by the Christian Brothers. Despite my innocence I like to think I was blessed with an acute radar for suspicious manoeuvres, and I never encountered a single such base move or gesture - nor do I count a few harmless slaps of the strap - on the hand, I hasten to assure - when as a strapping teenager I neglected to write the obligatory composition or essay for homework - not a single unworthy much less unspeakable move by any among all those dedicated adults encountered along the way.
And never forgetting or taking for granted the aforesaid good works in hospitals and the likes. Would that we had them now! Just saying…

Thank you. We in America hear nothing about this, although we hear much about "woke Ireland" these days. A blessed Easter to all.
Thank you Jesus for everything.

A Happy and Holy Easter!
