The Legacy Of Corrupt Judge Tara Burns: The Framing Of James Flynn And Aaron Brady

The grotesque tactics deployed by Judge Tara Burns and her cronies on the bench Patrick McCarthy, John Edwards and Tony Hunt represent a new low for the morally bankrupt judiciary in Ireland.

Another sickening turn of events transpired on Thursday in the corrupt Irish courts when a man who has been acquitted of all charges in relation to the robbery of a car allegedly used in the murder of Garda Adrian Donohoe was sent back for retrial.

Aaron Brady’s best friend James Flynn (34) has already spent four years incarcerated in Mountjoy Prison for a crime he had nothing to do with. Last month, the Court of Criminal Appeal overturned his conviction for the theft of the car used in the murder at Lordship Credit Union, Dundalk, stolen two days before the murder in January 2013. The Volkswagen Passat that was actually used in the murder was silver/grey, according to eye witnesses at the murder scene, and was seen in the minutes after the murder speeding around a nearby roundabout the wrong way and heading for Dublin.

The car that Gardai accused Aaron Brady and James Flynn of stealing was blue in colour and was found burnt out in Northern Ireland countryside about an hour away. It had nothing to do with the robbery or murder at Lordship Credit Union where Donohoe was killed.

Both men have always denied having anything to do with the theft of this car and the murder and there is not one scintilla of forensic or other evidence linking them to either event. The Gardai produced fabricated statements and photographs containing little more than blobs of light to justify the men’s involvement in the theft of the car.

Even though the DPP claimed James Flynn was involved in the theft of the car linked to the murder, unusually, he was never charged with conspiracy in that murder but was extradited back to Ireland from the UK for the theft of the blue Passat which the DPP packaged up into a bundle of creeper burglaries he was alleged to have been involved in around the country.

James had an impeccable record and a successful landscaping business in Boston returning home to Ireland in the winter to visit family. He was not short of money. He utterly denies his involvement in any crime. He was acquitted on all charges but Judge Tony Hunt changed the extradition warrant and convicted him separately of the theft of the Passat.

This action by Hunt was completely unlawful, as acknowledged by The Court of Criminal Appeal last month (see below). In that moment, James Flynn should have walked from court and been given an apology by the Court and substantial compensation for stealing four years of his life and accusing him in the wrong.

Instead, in a twist of events that would make a stone cry, Judge Tara Burns and her colleagues McCarthy and Edwards suggested the DPP might like to retry him for crimes he has already been acquitted aka double jeopardy. Yesterday, in court, the DPP took the court up on their corrupt offer and James was sent back to prison - an innocent man and the victim of profound illegality by the judiciary, the DPP, and prosecuting barrister Lorcan Staines and Brendan Grehan.

All of those involved in this farce know the men are innocent but they persevere because they believe it is more important to protect the vile State than to admit that the Gardai have covered up the murder of one of their own. They are doing this because it appears that Donohoe was killed by his own. Why else would they be going to such lengths to frame two innocent men?
